Biogeochemistry and Biogeography
Biogeochemistry and Biogeography are interdisciplinary sciences that are related to Systems Ecology. Biogeography examines the distribution of species (biology) in space (geography) and time (history). Biogeochemistry examines chemical cycles that are either driven by or have an impact on biological activity. Various units on the UGA campus participate in these emerging fields of study.
* The Ecology, Geology and Geography departments do not formally participate in ILS. Faculty within these units, however, may have appointments in ILS participating units that may allow them to host an ILS student.
