Sanders, Ashley
Assistant Professor
Neuroscience
- Dr. Sanders investigates how socioeconomic disadvantage influences children's neurodevelopment and risk for psychiatric disorders, aiming to inform public health policies addressing childhood adversity. Her research integrates neuroimaging technique (e.g., resting-state functional connectivity, diffusion tensor imaging) with inflammatory biomarkers like cytokines to examine how environmental factors shape cognitive and behavioral outcomes. She is particularly interested in brain regions involved in stress and cognition that are understudied in the context of social disadvantage, including the cerebellum.
